As you can probably tell from our website and first CD cover, we appreciate creativity in the kitchen. One style of cooking that is particularly near and dear to our hearts is BBQ. We take BBQ very seriously.
Friends, when I say BBQ, I’m talking about southern style BBQ: Pulled pork that melts in your mouth; smoked wings that are plump and juicy; ribs that fall off the bone. The higher the fat content, the better.
I’m looking for places with fast and friendly service, and a down home atmosphere with some personality. I want to be comfortable there in work boots, jeans and a camo hat. I want a waitress who calls me “hon”. I want BBQ that disables all my portion control sensibilities so completely that I will eat until I need assistance getting back to the truck. This is my quest. To find BBQ that is so good that it hurts…
Disclaimers: I don’t have any culinary training. I don’t do reviews for a living. I just have a deep and abiding love for great BBQ, and when I find a place that I think does it really well, I’m gonna let you know about it.
When we rate a place, we’re gonna use our proprietary “pig rating system”. Five Pigs is the best possible score, zero pigs is the worst. You have to really screw up to get zero pigs.
